Roadworks on the A518 Town Meadow Way in Uttoxeter are currently in progress, according to Cheadle Community Overground Group.

The work forms part of a wider programme of road maintenance across the local area. Utility companies including gas, water, phone and electric providers carry out the majority of roadworks. For detailed information on specific schemes, residents can visit One Network.

Other recent road improvements

Staffordshire County Council has completed a £255,000 improvement scheme at the A521 Delphouse Road and Brookhouse Road intersection in Cheadle. The junction was resurfaced over a four-week period, with repairs made to kerbs and ironworks. Temporary traffic management and overnight closures were used during the resurfacing phase.

Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways at Staffordshire County Council, said the scheme demonstrates the council's commitment to maintaining and improving local roads. "The resurfacing work, together with repairs to kerbs and ironworks, will provide a smoother and more reliable road surface for motorists and help keep the junction in good condition for years to come," Allen said.

Pothole repairs accelerate

In July, Staffordshire County Council filled 4,750 potholes — more than any other month in the past five years. This represents an increase on the previous July, when 3,583 defects were repaired. The council is targeting 40,000 pothole repairs by the end of March 2027.
